About This Archive
Genetic Mettle is a living family heritage archive — a place to document, explore, and share the geographic and personal history of our family across generations.
Why This Archive Exists
Every family has a geography. The places where lives began, where paths crossed, where journeys ended — these locations are as much a part of our story as the names and dates we record. Genetic Mettle was built to make that geography visible and explorable.
The name reflects the idea that what we inherit from our ancestors isn't just DNA — it's character, resilience, and the accumulated courage of people who made difficult choices across difficult times. This archive honours that inheritance.

All information in this archive has been gathered from family records, census documents, parish registers, immigration records, and oral history. Dates and locations are recorded as accurately as the available sources allow.
Where records are incomplete or uncertain, entries are marked accordingly. The archive is a living document — it grows as new records are discovered and verified.
